A Plant Operator opportunity is available at Imperial's Cold Lake, Alberta location. The city of Cold Lake is located in the western Canadian province of Alberta. It is approximately 294 km (180 miles) northeast of Edmonton, 170 km (100 miles) north of Lloydminster, and 588 km (375 miles) northeast of Calgary. The area offers all major amenities without crowds and traffic, world class recreational facilities and numerous types of outdoor activities. This is NOT a fly in/out opportunity and camp is not provided. Relocation to the Cold Lake area is required.
As an initial assignment you will train as a member of our operating staff to gain practical hands-on experience with operating and safety procedures. On-the-job experience will be supplemented with additional related formal training. You will work in a heavy oil plant environment and you will be required to work on your own without direct supervision following the initial training period.
Following your initial assignments and after becoming competent in all areas and reaching career level, you may have the opportunity to move into more technical roles such as Control Room Operator, Shift Engineer, Plant Shift Supervisor, Operations Specialist or Safety/Health/Environment Lead.
