Air Liquide is currently in need of a Plant / Facility Manager who will be responsible for managing plant cylinder production to achieve optimum operating performance consistent with the corporate philosophy, business strategies and operating plans. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a well-established, safety-conscious organization that offers a dynamic role, directly contributing to the growth of Air Liquide and customer satisfaction.

The incumbent will manage a Medium Sized Industrial Cylinder Filling Plant in Winnipeg (5 operators) and Medical Cylinder Filling Plant in Saskatoon (4 operators).

Responsibilities:
  1. Operate the plant, including managing personnel, budget, assets, and customer relationships. Prepare and analyze production and performance reports. Contribute to the annual budget and participate in contractual negotiations with unions or employee committees. Recognize employee contributions and ensure effective communication.
  2. Ensure safe and environmentally compliant operations for employees, customers, shareholders, and the public. Execute the site-specific HSEQ Action Plan.
  3. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations across regional facilities. Manage operating permits, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate audits, and address action items until resolution.
  4. Ensure all industrial activities are performed by trained, qualified personnel. Manage staffing, recruit as needed, document training needs, and participate in succession planning.
  5. Focus on continuous improvement to maintain cost-effectiveness. Ensure reliable and efficient plant operations and participate in periodic reviews.
  6. Operate facilities meeting customer requirements.
  7. Maintain mechanical integrity of assets, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure good plant housekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Technologist Diploma with relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of labor, environmental, occupational health and safety laws, business acumen, and communication skills.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a continuous operation environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
