Role Overview

The Plant Manager oversees and is accountable for the productivity and efficiency of the Victoria plant, including quality control, maintenance, shipping, engineering, employee and union relations, health and safety, capital equipment planning, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations to meet key performance indicators: quality, food safety, health and safety, customer satisfaction, and financial targets
• Manage KPI results and communicate effectively with employees
• Develop and implement operational and capital budgets
• Plan for the efficient use of materials, machinery, and personnel
• Lead projects such as new product launches or equipment upgrades
• Promote a culture of continuous change and manage employee relations
• Ensure training and development of staff to optimize plant performance
• Maintain compliance with government and regulatory agencies
• Ensure security and safety of plant premises
• Foster good communication and relationships among management, employees, and union representatives

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in food science (dairy), engineering, or relevant fields
• Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Production Manager or Director in a comparable food industry plant
• Proven success in transformation projects (H&S, Quality, Innovation, Productivity)
• Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean)
• Strong leadership and planning skills
• Track record of improving cost efficiency and plant performance
• Financial acumen related to plant operations
• Excellent communication skills and results-oriented mindset
