Skretting is looking for "Plant Manager for the St. Andrews, New Brunswick location for overseeing all production, maintenance process.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our plant: production operations, manage team of supervisors, maintenance and process engineering with primary focus on productivity, ensuring safety and quality standards, promoting sustainability, developing the team, and fostering a positive team environment.

This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Description:

  • Production Planning and Execution:

    • Manage operational activities to achieve efficient and effective execution and delivery of results.

    • Coordinate production operations across multiple shifts, ensuring adherence to production schedules and budgets.

    • Focus on optimizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to maximize productivity.

  • Maintenance and Repair (M&R):

    • Oversee mid and long-term maintenance planning, including budgeting. Ensure all maintenance activities are planned and prioritized to minimize disruptions and maintain continuous production.

    • Balance the need for continuous production with planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

  • Leadership and People Management:

    • Provide leadership and direction to the production and maintenance teams.

    • Set individual objectives, review performance, and provide ongoing feedback.

    • Motivate and coach employees, fostering teamwork and ensuring staff are capable of achieving set objectives.

    • Develop the team and maintain a positive team environment.

  • Reporting:

    • Develop and monitor relevant KPIs to maintain insight into performance against targets.

    • Monitor performance indicators, including variance reports, production reports, quality reports, safety reports, and sustainability reports.

  • Quality / HSE Compliance:

    • Ensure all activities comply with HSE and quality regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

    • Promote awareness of safety and quality standards, addressing any anomalies promptly.

    • Include accident metrics and global safety initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and practices to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Develop tactical plans to improve operational performance.

    • Focus on operational excellence initiatives to optimize productivity, safety, and quality.

  • Sustainability and CAPEX Sponsor:

    • Lead sustainability initiatives, focusing on CO2 reduction and energy efficiency.

    • Sponsor and oversee CAPEX projects to ensure alignment with sustainability goals and operational efficiency.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Compliance with quality and HSE standards.

  • Safety metrics:Lost Time Accidents, Incidents, Global Safety Initiatives.

  • Quality metrics:Complaints, First Time Right, Waste.

  • Cost metrics:OPEX, Inventory levels, Inventory variances, Stock accuracy.

  • Productivity metrics:OEE, OTIF.

  • Employee metrics:Turnover, Absenteeism, Engagement, Diversity.

  • Sustainability metrics:CO2 reduction, Energy efficiency.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Formal education or qualification in engineering, including a bachelor's degree or diploma, along with relevant experience in the manufacturing field or engineering industry.

  • At least 10+ years of solid background in manufacturing with experience in production and maintenance management

  • Previous experience in the aquaculture industry is an asset

Expectation from the Role:

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong manufacturing background with experience in production and maintenance management

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
