PLANT MANAGER - St Clet, Quebec
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Plant Manager provides daily supervision and training of plant team members in the areas of production, maintenance, health & safety, quality control, and shipping & receiving. The Plant Manager coordinates daily production orders and activities to fulfill order requirements ensuring customer service satisfaction.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes safe production methods to meet production schedules and coordinates work activities with the team.
- Maintains all equipment in accordance with the company maintenance program.
- Maintains inventory storage areas, shop facilities, and all active work areas in a neat and orderly fashion according to company procedures and protocols.
- Coordinates daily production activities with team members to provide superior customer service.
- Provides training, coaching and development for production team members in areas of production, job function, health and safety and record-keeping.
- Ensures compliance with all standards for safe working conditions according to corporate and legislative health and safety standards.
- Provides accurate monthly inventory counts as required.
- Prepares production and other reports as required.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or GED, post-secondary education in a related trade is preferred.
- 8+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the relationship between all aspects of production including inventory control, equipment usage, yield analysis, overuse, waste management, scheduling, quality assurance, safety, and on-floor maintenance.
- Ability to supervise and motivate team members in a production environment.
- Effective coaching of production team members to reduce equipment breakdown and improve overall productivity.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Windows based applications.
- Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and continually adapt to change.
