Responsibilities
- Analyze sources of trouble or failures, devise repair methods and proceed with repair work
- Assemble, install and adjust a variety of bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and pins
- Inspect, lubricate and adjust machinery as needed
- Repair / replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment
- Rebuild or fabricate parts when necessary
- Operate power / hand tools and welding equipment (electric or gas)
- Observe all health, safety and environmental rules and practices while maintaining safe and organized workspaces
- Additional duties as assigned
- Conduct site hazard assessments and various other checks
Requirements
Five (5) years’ related work experience demonstrating thorough knowledge and abilities for operating, troubleshooting and maintaining plant equipmentMechanically inclined with working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and boiler systemsKnowledge of electrical systemsMust be willing and able to work long shifts and extra hours when necessaryBasic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, welding, plumbing, plastic or sheet metal fabrication skillsPrevious experience in a ready mix and / or construction industry would be considered an assetInterest and ability in working both independently and as a teamStrong critical thinking / problem-solving skillsMust have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportationPhysical Requirements
