Join Suncor's Midstream Engineering team where you will provide expertise to deliver consistent, safe and reliable operations. You will leverage Suncor’s Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) tools, and engage with operations and the integrated team to deliver a portfolio of safe, efficient, and effective capital projects.Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or immediately eligible for registration
8+ years relevant Oil and Gas industry experience, preferably in Refinery, Pipelines or Distribution facilities
8+ years of Engineering experience with accountability for technical management of change processes (including technical risk assessments), identifying technical limitations that may require equipment or system design changes while understanding of compliance with federal/provincial regulatory requirements
Expertise in the development of complex, multi-disciplinary projects and familiarity with the interrelationship of all engineering disciplines to cater to portfolio of high profile economic and regulatory compliance projects across the business unit
Demonstrated understanding of industry engineering standards, best practices, tools, applications in support of development of safe, reliable, cost effective and timely engineering deliverables
Excellent communication (written, oral, and listening), change management, non-authoritative leadership, and organizational skills
Excellent proficiency in English is required; proficiency in French would be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
Lead engineering work and support the development and implementation of capital projects for capital equipment and system design changes, including development of detailed problem definitions
Accountable for fit-for-purpose engineering deliverables such as construction work packages, engineering design basis and detailed engineering assessments and calculations with support from external EPCs as needed
Evaluate and support required changes from any impacts to facility siting, operating envelopes, safe operating limits, PHAs, PSI and corrosion control
Ensure all changes comply with Suncor and industry technical standards and support the development of technical deviation approvals
Ensure operations teams understand of changes, and any new processes/equipment changes required to mitigate any identified risks
Ensure operations considerations are included in evaluating/delivering projects and changes successfully
Coordinate availability of key resources including automation, engineering, EH&S, and operations to support completion of evaluations, changes, and system commissioning
Ensure all documentation is properly updated and all stakeholders are engaged throughout implementation of all changes, including completing pre-startup safety reviews

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime, depending on business needs
This role requires frequent travel to terminals in Eastern Canada (expected travel is 10-15% per month)
