Job description

  • Oversee planning and execution of all processes within the plant consisting of various precast / pre-stressed concrete products with the intent of promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Make recommendations and implement continuous improvement programs for production and maintenance processes, as well as processes upstream from production
  • Design of lifting beams, prestressing frames, and other miscellaneous items
  • Help develop and manage process documentation and share production efficiency analyses with operations as needed
  • Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling of equipment and the facility
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Inventory control of raw materials and finished products
  • Involvement with plant certifications
  • Assist with form design and form repairs
  • Share knowledge with others to assist in promoting a better-trained workforce
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical / Industrial engineering
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and standards
  • Proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Office, Google SketchUp and AutoCAD, with exposure to other engineering related software such as Tekla Structures, Virtual Simulation software such as Siemens Technomatics, with exposure to other engineering related Manufacturing Resource Planning (“MRP”) software being an asset.
  • Previous experience or past co-op placement in a concrete or manufacturing environment would be considered a definite asset
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction drawings
