Job summary

West Fraser's Grande Prairie Division is currently recruiting for a Controller. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is a key part of the mill management team.

You will oversee monthly and quarterly closes, forecasts, cost reporting, and SOX/internal controls, while supporting capital projects and inventory analysis. The position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, with a Monday–Friday office schedule.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation or working towards one is preferred.
• 3+ years of related work experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy and deadline discipline.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Oracle/JD Edwards experience preferred.
• Sarbanes-Oxley controls experience is a key asset.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close & analysis for financial and non‑financial metrics.
• Complete mill financial forecasts (monthly, quarterly reforecasts & annual plans).
• Provide weekly cost reporting to support margin initiatives.
• Support capital projects through cost tracking vs budget.
• Oversee inventory control and analysis; ad hoc analyses as needed.
• Assist with internal controls and SOX testing; support procurement efforts.
