THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Field Operations team is currently seeking candidates for multiple permanent positions for both Plant and Field Operators in our fields within the greater Dawson region located in northeast British Columbia.

Reporting to the Area Foreman, you will provide direct guidance and support to operating staff to consistently meet or exceed expectations in the following areas: health and safety, production, operating costs, corporate values, environment, training, regulatory, and emergency response while in care and control of the field. You will also be responsible for providing operational support to the assets, including monitoring and troubleshooting the safe operation of the plant facilities, wells, gas gathering systems, and compressor stations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the plant for any issues and make changes as necessary to accommodate fluctuations in input rates
  • Responsible for the safe operation and routine maintenance of high-pressure gas wells and gathering systems including pipeline routine pigging operations
  • Record and report on flaring, shutdowns, heat changes, and other production reporting as required
  • Responsible for isolation and permitting activities in a large industrial setting
  • Work cross functionally with the construction and maintenance teams to make any changes in the plant
  • Monitor SCADA for any changes
  • Must meet the requirements of WHMIS, ABSA, and ASME codes as required
  • Must follow and apply the site’s safe work procedures
  • Must be prepared to respond to an emergency and follow the site’s emergency response plan

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

  • The ideal candidate will have a 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, or be willing to attain one within a year of being hired
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry for our entry-level positions, ranging to 10+ for our senior roles
  • Experience working in a high-pressure gas processing field with a thorough understanding of gas and liquid processes
  • Experience with dehydration equipment, transfer pumps, plunger lifts, and compression, and experience with condensate stabilization is an asset
  • Current certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to process changes and modifications
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and knowledge of automated operations systems
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills
  • Team player mentality and able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime and respond off hours as part of an “On Call” rotation
  • Ability to operate UTV and Snowmobile
  • Must currently reside in the greater Dawson Creek area

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :

The shift schedule for Field Operators is 8 days on and 6 days off, working 10 hours per day.

The shift schedule for Plant Operators is 7 days on and 7 days off, working 12 hours per day, including both day and night shifts.

As this role is considered safety sensitive, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete drug and alcohol testing, and a fitness to work test.

The base wage range for these positions is $36.00 CAD to $57.00 CAD. The posted wage range is reflective of the qualifications associated with this specific advertisement. Exact salary/wage may vary based on qualifications, experience and skillset. Additionally, all permanent employees are eligible to participate in ARC’s competitive bonus, long-term incentive, savings plan, and benefits programs.
