Job Profile

Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at our Trois Rivières, Quebec, Canada office.

General Description

This position will be responsible for the accounting at the assigned plant entity, including the month-end close process, analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, SOX compliance, and general plant administrative support. The Plant Controller will report directly to the Divisional Controller and indirectly to the Plant Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Responsible for accounts payable entries and weekly check run processing.
  • Responsible for posting cash, collections, and accounts receivable analysis.
  • Analyze and record accruals.
  • Analyze inventory movement, including job costs review, PPV, and annual Physical Inventory.
  • Responsible for the preparation and upload of the plant reporting package into SAP.
  • Responsible for monthly tax reports.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliations of sales, bank accounts, and balance sheet.
  • Prepare cost reports.
  • Establish records, maintain records, and balance various accounts using computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Post entries to the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
  • Serve as office manager regarding office supplies, equipment, and janitorial staff.
  • Supervise accounting assistants/office staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 7-10 years experience. Previous experience in a plant manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Languages: English and French.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting systems and understanding of manufacturing variances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to present results clearly.
