Position Overview : This position will remain open until filled. The City of Saint John welcomes new and diverse talent. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our team. You have diverse experience as a planner in both current and long-range planning. You are innovative in how you leverage opportunities and are flexible, enjoying the opportunity to address a wide variety of interesting challenges. You are an excellent communicator who combines diplomacy with clarity in dealing with the development community, citizens, elected officials, and committees, and seeks to work in partnership with all parties to create solutions together.

The opportunity : Saint John's unprecedented growth rate makes this a stimulating time to be a planner here. As a Senior Planner, you will have a lead role in shaping the future of Saint John. You will find the municipal organization committed throughout to a culture of smart growth, innovation, and planning. You will be responsible for developing major projects, processing complex development approvals, and developing and updating key community plans. For example, you will lead Saint John's next Neighbourhood Plan.
