Job summary

Polytainers Inc. in Ontario is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop and maintain daily production schedules, optimize resources and inventory, and collaborate across departments to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

You will monitor schedules, review demand, identify constraints, maintain inventory reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with Production, Maintenance, and Customer Service.

Qualifications

  • Strong production planning and scheduling experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with SAP in planning functions and familiarity with ePPDS is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MRP systems; good cross-functional communication.

  • Monitor schedule attainment and address issues affecting deliveries.
  • Review customer demand and identify potential production or material constraints.
  • Maintain and optimize inventory levels based on demand and production capability.
  • Generate inventory reports and identify capacity bottlenecks; propose solutions.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining daily production schedules, optimizing production resources and inventory, and working cross-functionally to ensure customer requirements are met in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute daily production schedules, balancing production efficiency with customer requirements.
  • Monitor schedule attainment and proactively address issues that could impact customer deliveries.
  • Review customer demand and identify potential production or material constraints in advance.
  • Maintain and optimize inventory levels based on demand, service requirements and production capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports.
  • Identify capacity constraints and recommend solutions to eliminate production bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance/overhauls with Production and Maintenance to minimize impact on production.
  • Develop “what-if” production scenarios when required.
  • Communicate scheduling changes and delivery impacts with Customer Service, Quality, Sales and other departments.
  • Support master-data maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing production control/finite scheduling experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of SAP experience within a planning function; ePPDS experience is an asset.
  • High School Diploma required; college education is an asset.
  • Knowledge of injection molding and plastic printing technology is an asset.
  • Strong production planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Work Environment: This position works closely with manufacturing operations and requires considerable time on the production floor. The environment is fast-paced, with priorities changing based on customer demand, and overtime may occasionally be required.
