About The Opportunity

The Planning and Development Officer is responsible for the coordination of effective planning and development activity related to the development, implementation and evaluation of Continuing Care services. This position plays a key role in identifying the issues important to the development and implementation of program policies and processes within Continuing Care program and which are in keeping, with the corporate goals and direction of Nova Scotia Health. This position is also responsible for identifying, creating, and coordinating educational opportunities and supports for the provincial Continuing Care Program.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in economical, health, social sciences, or administration required
  • Three years related experience in program planning and development at the community level
  • In-depth knowledge of NS Health and Provincial Continuing Care programs, policies & procedures.
  • Experience within healthcare is an asset
  • Experience in Project management is an asset
  • Experience in education, including developing education materials for teams members and the public, is an asset
  • Build a working knowledge of relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of the programs and policies provided through Seniors & Long-Term Care and the operationalizing of these within Continuing Care.
  • Experience in Adobe Pro, Visio, Power Point, Articulate, Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with the complete cycle of planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation for program management required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent Full-time position, 70 hours biweekly
  • Hybrid position - Flexible with in the Province, site to be determined on successful applicant

Compensation And Benefits

$36.53 - $45.91 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
