Job description

The Planning and Application Specialist is responsible for developing Space Planning and Furniture Application assets that enable the sales organization to effectively sell our product portfolio worldwide.

What does this role do?

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of office furniture planning principles, industry trends, and standards.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Teknion's furniture portfolio to provide space planning expertise.
  • Design optimal space plan layouts for use in Product Application Guides, Planning Tools, and Training materials.
  • Create content for Application Guides, including product descriptions, planning tips, restrictions, best practices, and value engineering.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Designers to incorporate their research into Product Application and Training content.
  • Work with Product Managers to develop content for Product Animations, Floorplan Walkthroughs, and Videos highlighting product features and space planning techniques.
  • Provide space planning and Interior Design knowledge for creating workstations, mockups, and photoshoots.
  • Deliver specification training to Dealer Specifiers, Interior Designers, Sales Reps, and Internal Trainers on new products.
  • Contribute to annual Knowledge pieces through furniture layout preparations.

What is required for this role?

  • College or University Degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven industry planning experience.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Product Specification software (20/20 or Project Matrix), AutoCAD, and visualization software such as SketchUp, Keyshot, or 3ds Max.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
