The Planning and Operations Manager contributes to the implementation of integrated supply chain processes. He or she is responsible for developing and managing production schedules for two plants located in Montreal, based on the order book. He or she also manages a team of three people whose objective is to optimize customer service, effectively manage inventory levels (finished products, semi-finished products and raw materials) and ensure optimal use of human and material resources, while minimizing costs and maximizing production capacity.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth integration of his area with other departments in the supply chain, sales, logistics, quality assurance and finance by directing the sales and operations process;
• Improve the flow of materials from suppliers to manufacturing plants and to the customer;
• Responsible for the tubular products procurement function;
• Lead and actively participate in negotiations with strategic partners;
• Analyze procurement costs and risks, qualify suppliers and decide on procurement strategies;
• Periodically analyze inventory levels by product category and make recommendations;
• Ensure the integration of procurement and inventory management strategies;
• Continue to support SAP functionalities as super user;
• Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes;
• Manage and provide support and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team;
• Inspire others to grow and engage, including being a role model and ambassador of our company values and code of conduct;
• Ensure the ongoing development of the planning function within the company.

Prerequisites:

• Bachelor's degree in administration or operations management;
• 7 to 10 years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment;
• CPIM accreditation (Certification in Production and Inventory Management);
• Knowledge of statistics and KPIs;
• Experience in team management;
• Computer skills: ERP/MRP software (SAP) and MS-Office Suite;
• Fluency in spoken and written French and English. (French is the work language at Epiroc Montreal and is essential to be fluent in this language.)
