Main Purpose and Function
The Planner II is a key member of the Downtown Planning team within Community Planning; Long-Range and Strategic Planning. The position leads the review and implementation of several community and area plans. The work also includes the development of new land use policy. The position is responsible for providing policy advice on rezoning enquiries and applications, as well as supervising staff on several projects. Communication with residents and stakeholders, as well as collaboration with other City departments and external agencies are a key aspects of this position.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work a hybrid work week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
