Who Are We?
CAD Railway Industries is an ambitious Quebec-based company that has been in operation for over 60 years. We specialize in the repair, conversion, and refurbishment of rolling railway equipment (various types of wagons and locomotives) with workshops and offices in Montreal (Lachine area) and Alberta (under the Caltrax banner).
Over the years, our mission has evolved to become a responsible company focused on repairing and extending the lifespan of equipment entrusted to us by our clients. In many cases, we modernize these assets, essentially giving them a second life.
Our teams design equipment that meets the needs of both freight and passenger clients.
Job Summary:
The incumbent will play a key role in the implementation and daily monitoring of our projects. Through their actions and rigorous follow-up, they will help optimize operations and production to ensure project progress in line with our contractual commitments. This includes the optimal use of human and material resources, adherence to client delivery deadlines, and cost control.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and maintain up-to-date project schedules in line with organizational goals and contractual requirements;
- Monitor the progress of project activities and update schedules accordingly;
- Adjust schedules based on material, financial, and human resource constraints;
- Consult with department leads to ensure optimal coordination across teams, taking organizational capacity into account;
- Participate in production capacity analysis and project engineering activities;
- Be involved at every stage of the project and oversee its proper execution;
- Ensure schedule adherence by maintaining regular communication with all internal stakeholders;
- Identify risks and collaborate with teams to protect timelines, analyze deviations, and propose mitigation or recovery plans;
- Ensure project progress by verifying that each phase is completed on time and objectives are met. This includes monitoring key performance indicators, proactively managing obstacles, and aligning resources to ensure project success;
- Actively participate in project meetings and contribute to solution-finding efforts;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment;
- Proven experience with MS Project and Excel;
- MS Project certification (an asset);
- Experience in cost, budget, and ROI (return on investment) analysis;
- PMP certification (an asset);
- Experience in the railway sector (an asset);
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
- Strong team player;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Problem-solving oriented;
- Demonstrates initiative, leadership, and proactivity;
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels and ability to mobilize a team;
- The candidate must be able to communicate well in English (50% of the time), as his or her duties require interaction with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec and Canada.
