Role description:

The Permits, License, Agreements and Approvals (PLAA) Project Coordinator will report to the PLAA Manager to support clients in obtaining contractor permits and ensuring compliance and the day-to-day implementation of obligations set out in the contract. This includes implementing strategic guidance and oversight into PLAA Plans and working across teams to ensure permit supporting documents, reports, and drawings are communicated in time for design and construction activities.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will coordinate with the PLAA Manager, design team, and construction team to implement a comprehensive PLAA Plan, ensuring the timely support of required permits in compliance with contractual obligations. You will engage with stakeholders to incorporate their requirements and feedback into permit applications while managing both internal and external regulatory approval processes. Additionally, you will participate in the scheduling and coordination of stakeholder meetings as needed and support clients in the preparation and submission of plans, reports, documents, and other essential information required for supporting permit applications. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience in planning, municipal planning, building, construction, and/or engineering
  • Knowledge of and experience obtaining permits, licenses, agreements, and approvals for major infrastructure and transit projects
  • A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in planning, engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation procedures and permitting requirements, including the Ontario Water Resources Act, Building Code, Planning Act, Metrolinx Act, and the Municipal Act
  • Experience with Environmental Assessments and the Province of Ontario's Transit and Rail Project Assessment Process (TPAP) would be an asset
  • Experience with carrying out effective stakeholder engagement in securing Federal, Provincial, and Municipal permit approvals
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects in Ontario, and specifically P3 project experience, would be an asset

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $99,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
