Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction and in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, the PIPS Practice/Research/Policy Analyst will lead and implement the research, technical support and consulting activities of the Program for Improvement of Public Sector Health at the Shriver Center at UMass Chan Medical School. This position requires a PhD in nursing, medicine, health services research, psychology, social work, or a related field and at least five combined years of experience in research and clinical care. Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide clinical expertise in the areas of chronic health and behavioral health conditions.
  • Design and implement mixed methods health services research.
  • Co-lead the writing of academic publications and research reports.
  • Disseminate research findings at conferences and academic and public presentations.
  • Review research related to grants and contracted research.
  • Provide support with anticipating, identifying and solving problems with ongoing and future projects.
  • Identify and participate in responding to grant funding opportunities.
  • Mentor junior research staff and students.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD or equivalent in nursing, social work, psychology or medicine.
  • Five plus years of combined clinical and/research experience in health or behavioral health services.
  • Experience with curriculum and instructional design, delivery and evaluation.
  • Proven record of providing successful mentorship to developing professionals.
  • Publication record in the field of health or behavioral health.
  • License eligible in chosen clinical field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience as the instructor on record for graduate level nursing, social work or medical education.
  • Post doctoral fellowship and/or record of scholarly activities.
