Piping Support Designer / Piping Stress Analyst

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an intermediate Piping Support Designer / Piping Stress Analyst to join our Candu Energy Inc. engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Your Role

This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of working independently or under the guidance of senior engineers. You will follow instructions from qualified professional engineers to complete mechanical tasks and develop engineering documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design and analysis of piping and support systems.
  • Perform pipe stress evaluations according to ASME and other relevant codes.
  • Use software tools like PipeStress, AutoPipe, MathCAD, GT STRUDL, and ANSYS for computations and modeling.
  • Review technical documents including drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Support the preparation of TSSA CRN registration packages for pressure boundary systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Conduct site visits and support field activities as needed.
  • Adhere to QA programs, codes, standards, and regulations.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Ontario.
  • 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering in heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and codes is preferred.
  • Experience with stress analysis software is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Additional Requirements
  • Security clearance eligibility through PWGSC.
  • Possibility of obtaining Nuclear Energy Worker status.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites.
