Piping Engineer – Oil & Gas Project & Reliability

Job summary

Airswift seeks a Piping Engineer in Calgary to join a major oil and gas client on a 4-month contract with potential extension. You will provide mechanical piping design and support safety, reliability, and sustainability across Operations, Maintenance, and Sustaining Capital budgets.

Required are 8+ years in piping systems, Alberta P.Eng eligibility, and strong knowledge of piping standards plus CAD/analysis tools. Willingness for occasional travel to Fort McMurray area is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Materials engineering with 8+ years in piping design in oil & gas.
• Candidates must hold or be eligible for P.Eng registration in Alberta.
• Strong knowledge of piping codes (ASME/ANSI/API/CSA) and ABSA regs.
• Experience with piping stress analysis and valve/fitting selection.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD and related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide piping design and engineering support for modifications and projects.
• Develop CWPs within static equipment discipline and support MOC/EngWO processes.
• Perform piping layout reviews, isometrics, and stress analyses for reliability.
• Lead technical evaluations, RFIs, and vendor reviews for sustaining capital work.
• Conduct site walkdowns and fitness-for-service assessments as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and external vendors to ensure HSSE standards.
