Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking a Piping Designer - Metals to join our engineering team. The role focuses on developing piping designs, PFDs, P&IDs, isometrics, and 3D models in an integrated CAD environment, with leadership of junior designers.

The ideal candidate has a 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma and at least 5 years of piping experience in an industrial setting; Bentley OpenPlant experience is an asset. Competitive base salary ranges and total rewards are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from a 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology Program at an accredited College
• Minimum 5 years’ experience focused on piping design in an industrial setting
• Experience with the Bentley suite of Open Plant tools is an asset

Responsibilities

• Preparation of and updates to project deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs and pipe isometric drawings
• General Arrangement drawings of piping layouts
• Ability to independently layout piping and select mechanical equipment
• Development of 3D piping models in an integrated CAD environment including pipe supports
• Checking of all piping related deliverables
• Reviewing and commenting on vendor packages as they relate to the piping discipline
• Participating in multi-discipline design reviews and coordinating with those disciplines
• Ability to lead and guide a small team of junior to intermediate piping designers

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
