Piper Educational Foundation Executive Director (2025-2026)

Job Description

The Piper Educational Foundation is seeking an Executive Director beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. The Executive Director of the Piper Educational Foundation will serve as the chief strategist, fundraiser, and advocate for the Foundation, working to advance its mission of enhancing educational opportunities for students in the Piper School District. This leadership role requires a dynamic individual who can drive fundraising initiatives, strengthen community partnerships, and oversee the Foundation’s operations to ensure sustainable growth and long-term impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Education, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or community engagement.
  • Proven success in securing major gifts, managing donor relationships, and executing fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and storytelling.
  • Experience with donor management systems, grant writing, and financial oversight preferred.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience leading a nonprofit or educational foundation.
  • Familiarity with the Piper School District and its community.
  • Confidence in engaging high-level donors and corporate sponsors.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions:

Strategic Leadership & Board Engagement

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision for the Foundation in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Foundation and Piper School District leadership, ensuring alignment with district priorities.
  • Provide regular updates to the Board, including financial reports, fundraising progress, and program impact.
  • Lead all fundraising initiatives, including annual giving campaigns, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and planned giving programs.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities that align with the Foundation’s mission and priorities.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, alumni, local businesses, and community partners.

Community & Public Relations

  • Serve as the Foundation’s public face, representing the organization at community events, district functions, and donor meetings.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and philanthropic entities to expand funding opportunities.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to enhance community awareness and engagement.

Program & Event Oversight

  • Plan and execute major fundraising events, including the annual auction and other donor engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the distribution and impact of grants, scholarships, and district support initiatives funded by the Foundation.
  • Work with school leaders and teachers to identify opportunities where the Foundation can provide meaningful support.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, donor database management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and nonprofit governance policies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including administrative duties, grant administration, and donor acknowledgments.

Contract Length: 260 day administrative contract

Salary: $90,000+ Commensurate with education and experience
