Job summary

Sony Pictures Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Pipeline TDs to build and refine the animation production pipeline. You will create tools and procedures for an efficient workflow across characters, layout, rigs, and rendering, interfacing with multiple departments to keep shows on schedule.

The role emphasizes Maya, Python, and UI work with PyQt/PySide; C++ is a plus. Applicants should be based in Vancouver or willing to relocate, with CG/VFX experience and Linux/Git fluency.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Maya and Python.
• Experience creating user interfaces with PyQt/PySide.
• Experience with C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
• Understanding of the git version control system.
• Familiarity with Katana, Unreal, Houdini, and/or USD is a plus.
• Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate, however a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
• Experience working on CG and VFX productions.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, and refines all technical aspects of the animation production pipeline.
• Develops and supports procedures and tools for an efficient pipeline across departments.
• Manages complex scene dependencies and automated publishing workflows.
• Meets schedules and show deadlines, collaborating with production and teams.
• Works alone or in a team to determine pipeline solutions.
