Job description

2D Pipeline Developer

The 2D pipeline developer works and supports the 2D pipeline team, artists, and supervisors to solve Nuke-related issues. In collaboration with other pipeline team members, the developer identifies and solves complex challenges related to tools, plug-ins, and workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain efficient and creative workflows and tools for compositing artists
  • Troubleshoot artist tool issues and develop effective solutions in collaboration with the pipeline team
  • Work daily with the pipeline management team and team lead to identify and implement new and existing features
  • Attend daily scrum meetings
  • Write technical briefs and user documentation
  • Identify areas for improvement early and escalate issues as needed
Qualifications
  • Passion for staying updated on the latest features in Nuke
  • 2+ years of experience writing Nuke pipeline code using Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns
  • Comfortable with Git and unit testing
  • Desire to understand the inner workings of complex systems
  • Basic DCC familiarity with Houdini and Maya
  • Experience with PyQt or PySide is preferred
  • Understanding of Color Science is a plus
  • Experience programming in C++, especially using Nuke’s NDK, is preferred
Salary

$100,000 - $170,000 a year

This salary range applies to applicants in Vancouver, BC. Your actual compensation will depend on your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
