Job description
Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent and Foreman, the Pipelayer is responsible for ensuring accuracy in layout of pipe routes and setting elevations ensuring correct installation of sewer and water pipes and system components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Foreman, review blueprints, drawings and specifications to ensure that pipe routes and depths are accurate.
  • Ensure pipes and components are properly connected and sealed, especially butt fusing, working in confined spaces including trenches and manholes.
  • Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support.
  • Work effectively as a team with other team members on our jobsites.
  • Work safely on our jobsites and promote a safe work environment, adhering to all CRE safety policies and procedures, including participation in safety tailgate meetings.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of Pipelayer experience in civil / infrastructure construction, preferably in the areas of sewer and water.
  • Prior experience as a Labourer, Pipelayer or Heavy Equipment Operator in sewer, water and earthworks projects an asset.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal English, with the ability to provide clear direction to crew members, especially with regard to safety and work tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail.
