Job description

Pipelayerto join our underground utilities team. This is a hands-on role with an opportunity to contribute directly to the success of complex construction projects while mentoring junior crew members. Job Type: Seasonal

Shift Details:Monday-Saturday, every other Saturday off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and align sewer, storm, and utility pipe systems (concrete, PVC, poly, and box pipe).
  • Ensure pipe is clean, properly pushed, and installed on grade and on centerline.
  • Set up trench centerlines and pipe lineups.
  • Prepare for daily work: load and maintain tools, ensure proper rigging and safe work practices.
  • Mentor and lead junior crew members, ensuring proper methods are followed.
  • Measure and cut pipe accurately; instruct others in these tasks.
  • Perform manual and mechanical trenching and gravel backfill procedures.
  • Safely set up and operate lasers, transits, and other precision tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3–5 years experience in deep underground utility installation as a Pipelayer or helper.
  • Strong working knowledge of pipe lasers, transits, rigging, and blueprint reading.
  • Able to read and interpret locates, city specs, and soil types.
  • Familiarity with manual trenching and equipment operation is an asset.
  • Must have valid transportation and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Must be able to pass D&A Test
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable working in deep trenches and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
