Job summary

Firma Contracting Inc. seeks an experienced Pipelayer for underground utility projects in Edmonton, Canada. You will install water, storm and sanitary pipes, follow established grades, and collaborate with the foreman to ensure safe, high-quality installations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pipelayer experience.
• Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• High attention to detail and quality standards.
• Safety conscious and able to work safely.
• Strong understanding of pipe installation and flow logistics.
• Able to work independently and follow foreman instructions.
• Strong communication with operators and crew.

Responsibilities

• Install water, storm and sanitary pipe following established grades.
• Work with mainline operator and top man to ensure efficient flow.
• Provide clear communication with operators and ditch crew for safe installs.
• Assess risks and implement controls / mitigations.
• Complete site documentation as required.
• Participate in inspections and address deficiencies with corrective actions.
• Maintain professional conduct with honesty and integrity.

Job description

irma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to work on underground utility projects located in Edmonton. We do rehabilitation work allowing us be less weather dependant and have less downtime due to weather.

Hourly Wage: $38-$44 (based on experience)

Additional Compensation:

• Signing bonus available for eligible candidates
• Eligible for performance bonuses

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Installation of water, storm and sanitary pipe
• Follow the established grade for water, storm and sanitary pipe
• Work closely with mainline operator and top man to ensure efficient flow and production
• Provide a high degree of clear communication with operators, top man and workers in the ditch to maintain safe operations and quality installation
• Continuous assessment of risk and implementation of required controls / mitigations
• Complete site documentation as required
• Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of pipelayer experience is required
• Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
• Ability to read blueprints
• High attention to detail and management of quality specifications
• Safety conscious
• Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
• Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman

• Physically capable of performing heavy manual labour
