Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Pipefitter to support automotive assembly lines. You will work with piping, hoses, and fixtures, reading blueprints and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and using a range of shop tools.

Strong background in machining, and the ability to manufacture and troubleshoot complex systems is essential. This position requires ownership of personal tools, effective communication, and the discipline to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure safety and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive assembly / tooling or assembly systems.
• Must be able to use hand tools such as benders and threaders.
• Machining skills including lathe, milling, drill press or surface grinding.
• Read/interpret blueprints and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics accurately.
• Knowledge of lubrication systems and air compressors.
• Experience with precision equipment like pumps, hydraulic motors or CNC mills.
• Knowledge of adhesive glue systems; able to work in a team or alone.
• Must have own tools and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain piping and pressure systems for tools and fixtures.
• Read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Prepare layouts and fabricate frames; weld valve banks as required.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic/pneumatic components and water systems.
• Operate machine tools and support special projects.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and follow energy lockout procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to meet quality standards.

The Pipefitter should be familiar with Parker 801 hose, push to connect tubing and fittings. The Pipefitter is also responsible for threading and grooving sch. 40 pipe up to 4”.
