Job summary

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. Located near Logan Lake, BC, the Pipefitter Journeyperson role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance and new project installations across the mine site.

The successful candidate will have a Red Seal, a valid driver’s license, and strong reading of blueprints, with asset experience in HDPE fusing, fire protection equipment, process piping and valve

Qualifications

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Pipefitter/Steamfitter.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read blue prints.
• Experience with HDPE fusing, fire protection equipment, process piping, valve installations, and maintenance is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in a mining environment is an asset.

About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Pipefitter Journeyperson is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and new project installations throughout the mine site.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance and repair of water and waste disposal systems
• Diagnosis of system problems
• Disassemble and reassemble system components as required

Qualifications

Hourly Wage: $56.61

Working Conditions

• Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
• Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
