Job description

DarkVision is looking for a Pipe Integrity Analyst to join the Well Integrity Data Analysis Team in North Vancouver, BC. You will be responsible for analyzing high-resolution ultrasound scans of oil and gas wells. You will use the results to create actionable reports, 3D images, detailed models, and quantifiable data to help clients make informed decisions on safe and efficient operations of their multi-million-dollar operating assets.

This position requires 100% on-site work in the North Vancouver office.

Analysts will begin on a Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM schedule during the duration of their training. After training is complete, they will transition to a 4-week rotation of 12-hour shifts (Tuesday to Tuesday : 8 days on from 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM, then 6 days off, with a half shift on Tuesdays for live handover).

Following this, analysts may be selected to transition to a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule that includes alternating day and night shifts : 7 consecutive day shifts 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM, followed by 7 days off, then 7 consecutive night shifts 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM, followed by 7 days off. Selection for this shift is based on operational needs and individual performance. All candidates must be willing to work night shifts if selected.

This role does not provide work permit sponsorship.

Our Team

DarkVision's acoustic imaging technology captures terabytes of high-fidelity data with each run. Our Data Analysis team plays a critical role in the commercial process by analyzing these massive ultrasound datasets using our proprietary visualization software. They are meticulous, methodical, and thorough in providing customers with critical insights that lead to multi-million-dollar actions.

What You Will Do

  • Work on the highest impact and fastest turnaround projects for offshore and international wells
  • Inspect ultrasound data using our proprietary software to locate features and defects
  • Review and aggregate information from client documents
  • Follow detailed processes for completing analyses
  • Generate and edit reports
  • Generate images, videos, and 3D renderings
  • Complete and deliver preliminary reports to clients
  • Learn and master new types of analysis as DarkVision increases its product offerings

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Technical degree or diploma
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience working under tight deadlines with fast turnarounds
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in our North Vancouver office
  • Ability to work the shifts described above (12 hour rotating shifts including night shifts that run from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Cased Hole Log Interpretation experience
  • Experience with LWD or MWD
  • Experience performing reviews or quality checks on other people's work
  • Experience making critical decisions independently (e.g. when working alone during night shift)
  • Image processing experience
  • Experience with 3D data
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical)

General Salary Range

For this role, we anticipate paying $30 to $36 per hour. Both schedules receive a 10% shift premium. Analysts on the 7 days-on, 7 days-off schedule receive an additional 15% premium for night shifts.
