Job summary

A leading company in geophysics is seeking a skilled pilot responsible for the operation and safety of aircraft during global surveys. The ideal candidate will hold a commercial pilot's license, have extensive flying experience, and be willing to travel internationally.   • Experience on de Havilland Twin Otters is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to global survey sites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation and safety of the aircraft during flights.
  • Assist in monitoring on-board geophysical equipment and complete flight reports.
  • Liaise with foreign aviation authorities and ensure all flight equipment is operational.

Job description

  • Responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft they command and for all those on board during the flight;
  • Assist in monitoring on-board geophysical equipment;
  • Complete preflight inspections and postflight reports;
  • Liaise with foreign aviation authorities;
  • For each flight, become familiar with : the planned route / flight plan; the aerodromes planned for normal and emergency use, and the survey navigation equipment and ensure that it is in working order.
  • Ensure the following has been met : the flight as planned can be made safely; and the aircraft equipment including emergency, survival and safety equipment are installed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A valid commercial pilot´s licence with group 1 instrument rating;
  • Minimum of 1,000 total hours;
  • A valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for the purpose of traveling globally;
  • Valid driver's licence;
  • Willing to travel to our global survey sites;
  • Low level survey flying experience an asset;
  • International flying experience an asset;
  • Experience on de Havilland Twin Otters; and
  • Additional languages an asset.
