We are currently looking for a Pilot at our Saskatoon base in the Aviation department.

*Please note: you must be available for the AH145 training course start date of: October 4, 2025.

Being a Pilot with STARS is about so much more than flying an aircraft – it’s about being a beacon of hope when the unimaginable happens.Our Pilots undergo extensive, ongoing training each year to ensure they are at the top of their game, ready to respond no matter the conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and effectively pilot STARS aircraft
  • Maintain a category 1 aviation medical
  • Maintain currency and proficiency with respect to:
      • Aircraft flown
      • Regulations
      • Publications
      • Training standards
      • Licensing requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A valid Commercial Rotary Wing Licence
  • A minimum of 500 hours of helicopter experience
  • 300 hours PIC
  • Multi-Engine and Night/IFR experience desirable (for those applicants that require Night/IFR ratings, if you are eligible and selected, you may qualify for financial support through our Pilot Pathways Program
  • Helicopter Airline Transport Licence exams completed
  • Group 4 Instrument rating
  • Valid Class 1 medical
  • Airbus H145 type rating will be considered an asset
  • Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application for Night Vision Goggle purposes
  • Immunization records with required vaccinations
  • The position requires the applicant to work a schedule of day and night shifts to make our 24/7/365 patient care mission possible

  • All STARS Pilot roles are physically demanding and require overall strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular capabilities.
  • All Pilot roles have bona fide occupational requirements, e.g., physical standards, that are integral to fulfilling the role. These are detailed in the Pilot Physical Demands Analysis that is shared during the recruitment selection process.
  • All Pilot roles are required to wear personal protective equipment.

Health & Safety Requirements

This position has been identified as safety sensitive. Employment of the preferred candidate will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test, Physical Fitness to Work assessment, Audiometric testing, as well as providing proof of immunizations.
