Job summary

A public sector organization in Newfoundland is seeking a Pilot III (Training Captain) to operate King Air 350 Air Ambulance aircraft. The ideal candidate will have extensive flying hours, a valid Airline Transport Pilot’s license, and experience in medical transportation. Base pay range

CA$102,056.00/yr - CA$115,500.00/yr

Manager of Strategic Staffing - Government of Newfoundland

Transportation and Infrastructure - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

The primary function of this position is to function as Training Captain/Line Captain on NLGovernment owned King Air 350 Air Ambulance aircraft; assisting hospital personnel with boarding and deplaning patients; perform flight planning, pre-flight, flight and post flight duties in accordance with Government Procedures, the Government Operators Manual, the Government Sops, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations; making daily checks of pertinent weather, noteman flight information for flight planning purposes; monitoring the co-pilots performance, briefing and supervising co-pilot; briefing the co-pilot, other crew and passengers on intended operations; ensuring all necessary documents, logs and manuals pertaining to the operation of the aircraft are valid and on board; performs initial/recurrent flight crew training both in aircraft and simulator Aswell as ground instruction. Other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria
  • Minimum of 4500 hours total time, 2000 hours multi-engine Pilot in command time, 1000Hours King Air 350 experience
  • Possess a valid Airline Transport Pilot’s license
  • Valid Category 1 Medical
  • Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
  • Graduation from high school supplemented by the completion of a pilot training program from an approved Transport Canada flight training school

Conditions of Acceptance
  • Overtime may be required, on short notice
  • Must be available to be airborne within one hour after a medivac dispatch call
