Our Canadian operations are expanding with a 170,000 square foot fiberglass manufacturing facility on a 148-acre site in Bath, Loyalist Township, Ontario, Canada. This new facility will enable us to serve markets in eastern Canada, the Northeast, and the upper Midwest of the United States more effectively, producing pools for our fiberglass brands including Latham and Narellan Pools.

Pilot Truck Driver

The pilot driver is responsible for safely operating a pilot vehicle equipped with warning lights and flags to escort delivery trucks hauling over-dimensional loads on local and provincial highways. The pilot vehicle either travels in front of or behind the oversized load to warn other road users and uses 2-way communication devices to inform the delivery driver of load shifts or hazards such as narrow bridges, low-hanging trees, lane shifts, parked cars, and pedestrians. The pilot driver is a key team member ensuring the safe delivery of top-quality fiberglass pools to our customers.

Requirements

1. Valid Ontario Class G or higher driver’s license
2. Minimum 3 years of driving experience
3. Clean driving record with driver’s abstract
4. Knowledge of cargo securement, pre-trip inspections, and the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) is an asset
5. Excellent customer service skills, representing the company on the road and onsite
6. Detailing experience with boats and/or automobiles is preferred but not necessary
7. Ability to travel for long periods, including some overnight trips
8. Proficiency with smartphones and GPS devices
9. Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools
10. Ability to read and interpret maps, minor blueprints, and plans
11. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
12. Willingness to learn new skills, including pool detailing, small repairs, or assisting in manufacturing during off-seasons
13. Flexible attitude to adapt to changing work needs
14. Ability to work with crane/yard teams moving pools for production and staging
15. Experience with pressure washers, caulking guns, electric polishers, and assisting with pool detailing and outfitting
16. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons around heavy equipment, cranes, telehandlers, and forklifts
17. During slow periods, assist with facility maintenance or production, including working with respirators when necessary

Wages: $25 per hour
