Purpose

This position serves as a trusted advisor for private wealth services, supporting high net worth clients in achieving their holistic wealth management and investment growth goals through a disciplined, firm-wide investment strategy and wealth management process.

The Wealth Manager is a senior, non-registered relationship manager responsible for representing the full spectrum of wealth offerings to high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients. They support clients in reaching their financial and life goals by collaborating with the Centralized Registrant & Investment Advisory Team (CRIA), which recommends solutions aligned with the client’s holistic wealth management objectives.

The role involves developing deep client relationships to understand their life goals and needs, providing integrated private wealth solutions, and coordinating with various experts and partners to deliver on client expectations. The manager focuses on acquiring new clients, managing existing relationships, and identifying prospects to foster sustainable growth.

The Wealth Manager also ensures compliance with operational, legal, and risk management standards, including AML/ATF and conduct risks.

Accountabilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences and adhere to service standards.
  • Develop mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions and preferences.
  • Engage in ongoing wealth conversations to understand and address client needs.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of bank products and services to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide tailored wealth advice and solutions.
  • Partner with financial planning experts for comprehensive client plans.
  • Monitor and review client portfolios regularly for optimal profitability.
Wealth Strategy Support and Execution
  • Document and utilize the Life Discovery process to develop client understanding.
  • Coordinate with investment management teams to execute strategies.
  • Monitor investment portfolios and adjust strategies as needed.
Business Development
  • Create and manage business plans, including sales and marketing strategies.
  • Identify and attract new clients, and deepen existing relationships.
  • Analyze market opportunities and develop targeted strategies.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities to grow the client base.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospects and follow up on opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies.
Team Membership
  • Contribute to the team’s effective functioning and positive environment.
  • Build strong relationships within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in coaching, meetings, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
Education / Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSC, CIM (or in progress), CFA (asset), CFP (asset), LLQP (asset).
  • Industry experience in wealth management or investment management is preferred.
  • Strong relationship management, business development, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented.

Ongoing education includes completing CIM within 18 months and working toward registrant status with the provincial securities commission.
