Qualifications

The Physiotherapist reports to the Program Manager the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management.

About You


We invite you to apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Graduation from a Master's degree in Physiotherapy or acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
  • Current or eligible for registrationin a Resident capacity with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer competency with Microsoft office suite
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Positions available at various sites across the zone
  • Full-timePermanent positions
  • 12–18-month long assignment, full-timepositions
  • Following your Residency, you will either be placed into open unfilled positions within Rehabilitation Services, or you can apply for advertised positions throughout Nova Scotia Health
Compensation and Benefits



$36.58 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
