The Physiotherapist reports to the Manager and assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and patient management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides. The physiotherapist reports to a Health Services Manager and, as a member of a clinical team, collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio, including various sites in Cumberland County.

$35.86 - $45.29 hourly
