Under the direction of the Manager, Therapy Services, the Physiotherapist (PT) plans, organizes, directs, and delivers physiotherapy services for the assigned clinical area to clients/patients and staff of the Yukon Hospital Corporation facilities. The PT provides services to enable clients/patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include assessments, diagnosis, developing intervention strategies, evaluating effectiveness, and communication with clients, families, and healthcare team members. The PT also trains and mentors staff, supervises support personnel, acts as a clinical preceptor, fulfills the Total Joint Navigator role, and participates in quality assurance, program development, and departmental administration.
Qualifications include a Masters/Baccalaureate degree in Physiotherapy, current registration or eligibility with Yukon Community Services, registration with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and current CPR Level “C” certification. Clinical experience in a general setting is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
