The role blends inpatient and outpatient work, providing assessment, intervention and consultation for cardio-respiratory, neurological and orthopaedic patients, and collaborating with doctors, families and inter-professional teams to plan and review total care.

Qualifications

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Essential)
  • Minimum of two years experience in paediatrics (Preferred)
  • Inpatient hospital experience (Preferred)
  • Advanced training in orthopaedic, neuro-developmental, cardiorespiratory and/or other specialized techniques (Preferred)
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing(Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to work inter-professionally (Essential)
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Bilingualism (English and French)(Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Work with physicians, patients, families and inter-professional teams
  • Provide clinical services including assessment, intervention and consultation for in patients with cardio respiratory, neurological and orthopaedic conditions
  • Communicate all pertinent information with the healthcare team, school and community agencies in the most effective and efficient manner to plan, implement, and review the patient’s total care program
  • Participate in ongoing education and training and remain up to date on best practice
  • Collaborate with the physiotherapy team to prioritize and manage workload
  • Participate in the supervision of students and support personnel and in teaching, and research
  • Represent Physiotherapy or Developmentand Rehabilitation on committees
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives

Physiotherapist, Development and Rehabilitation

POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client is one of the few stand-alone, global leaders in Pediatric Health and is home to over 400+ staff and Physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. The are currently looking for Physiotherapist, Development & Rehabilitation.

  • This position will be a combined inpatient and outpatient position. During peak season, this position will fully support the acute inpatient units; during non-peak season this position will be fully aligned with outpatients.
  • Work with physicians, patients, families and inter-professional teams
  • Provide clinical services including assessment, intervention and consultation for in patients with cardio respiratory, neurological and orthopaedic conditions
  • Communicate all pertinent information with the healthcare team, school and community agencies in the most effective and efficient manner to plan, implement, and review the patient’s total care program
