Position Summary

A challenging and exciting opportunity exists to be a member of a collaborative inter-professional team delivering innovative rehabilitation services to help stroke survivors and their caregivers reach their optimal level of recovery in their community.

Using person-centered care principles, the physiotherapist will provide services to referred stroke clients in various settings, focusing on achieving optimal physical functioning to foster independence at home and facilitate a return to activities important to the client. The physiotherapist will also offer client-specific consultation, education, training, and in-services related to stroke rehabilitation for service providers, caregivers, and families.

Manager, District Stroke Centre & Dialysis

Salary

$40.36 to $56.30 per hour

Qualifications
Education
  • Degree from a recognized accredited university program in Physical Therapy
  • Member in good standing of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • ADP certification preferred
Experience
  • Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation, with knowledge of current best practices
  • Experience in hospital and community service delivery is an asset
Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in an inter-professional team
  • Understanding of the roles of various rehabilitation professionals in stroke care
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and patient self-management approaches
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
