Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Rehabilitation Services department.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, professional standards, and the code of ethics outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, the Physiotherapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription, and education of residents/clients/patients and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community settings. The Physiotherapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the profession and department; participates in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistant working with the team.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 08:00 to 19:12, rotating

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre is a 46-bed hospital with 115 residential care beds in the adjoining Peace Villa Care Home. It features two state-of-the-art operating rooms, ambulatory clinics including cancer care and hemodialysis, emergency and ICU, and a birthing centre with single maternity rooms for labour, delivery, and postpartum.

Fort St. John is located above the Peace River Valley and has a diverse population of approximately 21,000 (2021). It serves an area of about 69,000 and offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere with big city amenities and a vibrant arts community.
