Position overview

Position title: Physics Pre-six Lecturer

Salary range: A reasonable estimate for teaching a standard five-credit course is $10,186 - $11,809 (salary points 7-12). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary.

Percent time: Variable, based on course load.

Anticipated start: Appointments depend on instructional need and funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments from fall 2024 through fall 2025. Outside this period, an alternative open recruitment is required.

Position duration: Typically during fall, winter, and spring quarters, or Summer Session.

The Department of Physics at UCSC invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics, astrophysics, applied physics, condensed matter, or high energy particle physics. Preference is given to candidates who can contribute to diversity and excellence through teaching and service. The department will not sponsor employment-eligible immigration statuses. Internal candidates will be prioritized.

  • Master's degree or higher in physics or related field.
