The Health Centre in Kitchener-Waterloo is actively recruiting a Family Physician to provide full-scope primary care within an interdisciplinary team serving complex client populations. The role supports Nurse Practitioners with consults and handles charting, labs reviews and routine renewals.
Position is 0.6–1.0 FTE (22.5–37.5 hours/week), with pay at $170.24 per hour as per OMA rate, and on-site work across Kitchener locations. Evening/weekend hours and on-call duties may apply.

The Health Centre provides a broad range of services aimed at improving the health of individuals and the wider community. Our services include medical and dental care, health promotion, illness prevention and outreach programming. Our expertise and resources are focused on working with those who experience health inequities and barriers to accessing health services. Collaborating as an interdisciplinary team, we provide services and supports that address the social determinants of health including factors and barriers such as poverty, inadequate housing, food insecurity, substance use, language and culture, as well as stigma and social exclusion.
The Health Centre works with the most complex client population served by primary health care professionals within Waterloo Region. Our highly skilled and diverse team works from a strength-based approach with individual clients as well as the broader community. We collaborate with many partner agencies and organizations within Waterloo Region. Our team consists of Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Chiropodists, Pharmacists, Psychiatrists, Health Promoters, Community Health Workers, Administrative Staff and Volunteers.

The Health Centre is currently recruiting for the following position:
The Health Centre is looking for anything from 0.6 FTE to 1.0 FTE (22.5 to 37.5 hours per week)
The Family Physician works to their full scope of practice as a member of the interdisciplinary team that supports the provision of primary care for a wide range of complex clients.
The Family Physician actively support the work of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) by providing consultation services related to client issues that are beyond an NP’s scope of practice. Administrative duties include the normal functions related to charting, reviewing labs, prescription renewals, etc. Physicians and NPs support each other by reviewing labs and other reports when a colleague is away.
This role may include Outreach.
This position reports to: Manager, Primary Care
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Wednesday 9:00am – 5:00pm, or 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Friday – 8:00am – 4:00pm
Schedule will be determined by the operational needs of the Health Centre.
