The Opportunity:
Medcan Health Management is seeking a Physician (Menopause & Women's Health) to join our expanding medical staff of over 100physicians. Physician (Women's Health) plays a key role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to individuals navigating perimenopause and menopause. This role combines clinical expertise with collaborative care, ensuring clients receive timely, personalized support through both hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, lifestyle guidance, and emotional well-being strategies.
This is a part-time position that is scheduled 1-2 times/week based on physician and clinic availability.
What You'll Do:
Conduct thorough virtual consultations to assess menopausal symptoms and overall health.
Conduct the occasional in-person consultation (IUD insertion, etc)
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and alternative therapies.
Order and interpret diagnostic investigations as needed.
Complete and submit consultation notes within 48 hours of the initial consultation for client access.
Monitor patient progress through follow-ups and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Educate clients on menopause, lifestyle modifications, and long-term health considerations.
Review lab and diagnostic imaging results and task the nurse to report findings to the client.
Respond to clinical inquiries via Accuro tasks within 3 business days.
Assist with client triage by collaborating with sales agents via email to determine program suitability.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Coordinators, Dietitians, Skin Consultants, and Osteopaths to ensure holistic care.
Requirements
Clinical experience supporting a Women's Health program.
Menopause certification from NAMS/MSCP
Current registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
An active OHIP billing number
Experience in preventive care and wellness is an asset
CCFP designation, CCFP (EM) designation or FRCPC designation
Strong service-minded approach to providing excellent comprehensive care
Empathetic and collaborative working style to engage our diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
