Position Overview

West Virginia University Medicine is seeking multiple Hospitalists for West Virginia.

Position Details

West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist, Medical Director for our Pediatric Hospitalist program at Princeton Community Hospital.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the Princeton Pediatric Hospitalist Program, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  2. Provide oversight related to clinical care activities and staffing recommendations.
  3. Ensure efficient consultation services, streamlined clinical processes, and appropriate treatment protocols.
  4. Maintain high patient satisfaction and safety standards.
  5. Monitor quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Collaborate with physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain excellent clinical care and operations.
  7. Develop new clinical programs and innovations to incorporate the latest technologies and services.
Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent, with completed residency in Pediatrics or Family Medicine. West Virginia Medical License eligibility and board eligibility in Family Medicine or Pediatrics are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Additional Duties

Hospitalists provide 24-hour call coverage, round on admitted patients including nursery, support ED with consultative services, and admit unassigned patients. They also provide coverage to community pediatricians as requested, with appropriate notice and sign-out.
