Job description

Classification : Temporary full-time (1 year contract with potential to extend).

The primary goal for the physician assistant is to provide clinical care to maximize the educational opportunities for post-graduate trainees in Urology. The physician assistant will reduce the number of patients needed to be assessed in outpatient clinics by trainees, allowing them more time to learn from each case and pursue additional educational opportunities outside the clinic.

Responsibilities include :

  1. Assess patients in Cystoscopy clinics, perform endoscopic and prostate procedures.
  2. Assess patients in outpatient urology clinics.
  3. Perform voiding trials for outpatient urology patients.
  4. Assess patients in Erectile Dysfunction clinics and perform procedures, including non-invasive therapies and intracavernosal injections.
  5. Assist in surgeries in the main operating room when no postgraduate trainee is available.

Qualifications / Skills :

  • Current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Certified or awaiting certification through the Physician Assistants Certification Council (PACC) or NCCPA.
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.
  • Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment.
