A leading healthcare provider in Dawson Creek is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Emergency department. The role involves performing clinical duties under supervision, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring patient safety. The Physician Assistant (PA), Emergency, performs a variety of clinical duties within the scope defined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). Clinical care will be provided across select facilities under the supervision of a PA Emergency Program Physician Supervisor (the Physician Supervisor). The PA reports to a Site Administrative Manager but is accountable to the Physician Supervisor or delegate for quality of care and professional development. The PA collaborates with ED physicians, medical residents, nursing, and allied health professionals to deliver continuous, team-based care.
Starting salary ranges from approximately $88,990 to $111,237, based on education, training, experience, and comparable positions.
Functional Reporting Relationships
The Physician Assistant, Emergency reports clinically to the Physician Supervisor or delegate and administratively to the Manager, Clinical Operations or delegated leader.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
The PA must hold certification as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) by the NCCPA. Ongoing professional development and proof of enrollment and compliance are required, along with annual licensure maintenance with CPSBC. English proficiency meeting CPSBC standards, Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or legal authorization to work in BC, and ACLS certification (or within three months of hire) are mandatory. Compliance with Northern Health training requirements or equivalent education, training, and experience are also necessary.
