The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a full-time position in the Mental Health Program at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties include performing history and physical exams in various settings, including the Emergency Department and wards, and following patients in pre/peri/postoperative wards or other clinical settings.
They will attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative tasks include documenting all patient encounters, which may involve dictating or using electronic medical records. Effective communication in English with healthcare teams is essential.
NOTE: This is NOT a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant position.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a benefits package included.
Clinical Assistants:
This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, and checks of Adult and Child Abuse Registries. The successful candidate will cover any associated service charges.
Candidates may be asked to participate in a skills assessment and provide proof of educational achievements during the interview process.
